A former Military Administrator of Akwa Ibom State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State, Retired Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for allegedly receiving N450 million from Fidelity Bank Plc at the behest of former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke.
The money was allegedly paid out in Uyo from the $115 million Deziani allegedly gave to the bank a few days to the 2015 presidential election to help distribute to various persons and groups including members of the electoral commission.
Reports said Nkanga was arrested in Port- Harcourt, Rivers State on Monday and may be charged to court if he doesn’t return to funds to the coffers of the federal government.
