January 30, (THEWILL) –Â On Saturday, a Fulham fan, who suffered a cardiac arrest during the Championship game against Blackpool at Craven Cottage, for which the match was suspended for more than 40 minutes, unfortunately passed on in the hospital.
Fulham had opened the scoring through Aleksandar Mitrovic’s 28th goal of the season, but the game was stopped soon after the quarter hour mark as a supporter required medical attention.
Unfortunately, the fan did not make it out of the hospital alive and Fulham put out a statement in his honour that read: “It is with immense sadness that we inform fans of the passing of supporter, Paul Parish.
“Paul suffered a cardiac arrest and received treatment in the Hammersmith Stand at this afternoon’s match before being transferred to the hospital. He sadly passed away this evening.
“Our condolences and the thoughts of everyone at Fulham Football Club go out to Paul’s family, friends, and loved ones.”
After play resumed in the championship tie, Blackpool equalised in the 57th minute with Josh Bowler, and the game ended 1-1.
