November 25, (THEWILL) – Borussia Dortmund snapped their recent run of poor form in the Bundesliga with an impressive 4-2 comeback victory over rivals Borussia Mönchengladbach at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday. The win sees Dortmund climb back into the top four of the Bundesliga table after RB Leipzig dropped points away at Wolfsburg.

Dortmund initially went behind early on when Gladbach’s Rocco Reitz opened the scoring in the 13th minute. The visitors doubled their lead through Manu Koné in the 28th minute and looked set to condemn Dortmund to a third straight league defeat. However, Dortmund stormed back with goals from Marcel Sabitzer, Niclas Füllkrug and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to incredibly turn the match on its head before half-time.

The second-half was a more cagey affair with chances limited due to the wet conditions. Both sides made multiple substitutions to freshen legs, slowing the tempo of the match in the closing stages. Dortmund eventually sealed the three points deep into stoppage time through Donyell Malen to make it seven Bundesliga wins from 12 games this season.

The result sees Dortmund strengthen their position in the top four of the table while Gladbach remains mired in mid-table. Dortmund manager Edin Terzic will be delighted with his side’s character after falling two goals behind early on.
