April 22, (THEWILL) – The Executive Members of the Ganduje Ward of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have called for the arrest and prosecution of “a bunch of non-APC members”, who announced the purported suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The call is contained in a statement jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, Ahmed Muhammed Ganduje and Usaini Jibrin, respectively and issued to newsmen on Monday in Kano.

In the statement, the executives urged the national body of the party and security agencies to facilitate the arrest and persecution of the group “for impersonation and calculatingly attempting to cause disaffection in the party.”

They said that after a failed attempt to suspend Dr Ganduje, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Government in Kano State organised “yet another bunch of non-APC members” to suspend the APC National Chairman.

They also said that as authentic executive members of the ward, they know that no new election was conducted by the state or national body of the APC to herald a fresh leadership.

“To the best of our knowledge, as executive members of Ganduje ward of the APC, there was no new election of new leadership of our party.  We remain the same executives of the  ward.”

The executives said the sponsored group couldn’t do their homework well by using a fake or uncertified letter headed paper on which they drew a list of non-existing party executives.

“And to worsen their situation, the leader of the group who announced the purported suspension is an NNPP member, who contested but lost the councilorship election in Ganduje ward.

“We, therefore, call on our party members to disregard such propaganda aimed at causing instability in the party”, the executives added.
