November 15, (THEWILL) – Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies will face the winner of the semi-final contest between Mamelodi Sundowns and Malabo Kings in the final of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League.
On Monday, the Ghanaians overcame ASFAR of Morocco 2-1 at Al Salam Stadium to become the first team to reach the final.
Hasaacas Ladies opened the scoring in the first half through Doris Boaduwaa, but ASFAR equalised in the final minute of the half with Najat Badri ensuring that the two semifinalists went into the interval all square.
The opportunity to seize control of the outcome came in the 66th for the ladies from Ghana but Hasaacas missed a penalty when Perpetual Agyekum’s kick from the spot bounced off the post.
However, despite ASFAR’s best efforts, Evelyn Badu, the tournament’s top scorer, found the game’s second and winning goal for the Hasaacas Ladies. Nothing the Moroccans could do to change the outcome as Hasaacas held onto their lead for the remainder of the match
