August 27, (THEWILL) – AC Milan continued their strong start to the 2023/2024 Serie A campaign, picking up a comprehensive 4-1 home victory over Torino on Saturday evening.

The Rossoneri controlled proceedings from the outset at the San Siro, deservedly taking the lead through an instinctive Christian Pulisic finish. However, Torino managed to peg them back briefly, thanks to an opportunistic Perr Schuurs goal against the run of play.

Milan refused to let their heads drop though, regaining the advantage before half-time after Olivier Giroud converted a controversial penalty. Theo Hernandez then added a superb third goal to give the hosts a commanding lead at the break.

Giroud grabbed his second penalty of the night midway through the second period to round off an excellent attacking display from the home side. Milan comfortably saw out the remainder of the match, introducing Samuel Chukwueze for Giroud in the 66th minute, to make it two wins from two this term.

The victory ensures Milan have made a perfect start to their title challenge, picking up maximum points and scoring six goals without reply. They will now turn their attention to Friday night’s mouth-watering clash against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. Meanwhile, Torino host Genoa in their next game on Sunday.
