April 18, (THEWILL) – Manchester United’s Glazer family are weighing up their options regarding the future of the club, and there is a likely possibility that they may remain at the club.

THEWILL recalls that the Glazers put the club up for sale/investment last November, with Raine Group managing the bids and offers. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani of Qatar and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are among those, who have made full takeover bids since then.

However, the Glazers have indicated that they are open to investment opportunities that would result in minority stakes becoming available. Several interested parties, including Ares Management Corporation and Sixth Street Partners, have emerged. The Glazers are reportedly considering investment opportunities in addition to the offers to sell. If the brothers do stay, other family members on the board could depart.

Sources monitored by THEWILL suggest that Joel and Avram Glazer have set a minimum purchase price of £6bn, but they believe that Manchester United could soon be worth £10bn, and they are not sure that now is the right time to sell. The final deadline for the bidding process is April 28, after which Raine Group will present the options to the Glazers, who will then decide how they want to proceed.
