November 14, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan, which was partially released on Sunday night, is said to have left the management of Manchester United furious.
The full conversation between Ronaldo and Morgan, which will air later this week, covered a wide range of topics, including his situation at United. As THEWILL reported, Ronaldo acknowledged feeling “betrayed” by the organisation after initially rejoining in 2021.
The 37-year-old made an attempt to leave United last summer but may have ended his time at the club after saying he “doesn’t respect” the club’s current manager, Erik ten Hag, that he has been the target of attempts to force him out, and that he had “never heard” of interim manager, Ralf Rangnick before he was hired.
Ronaldo blasted the club for neglecting to update its facilities which have left the club furious at the actions he has taken. They had assumed that he and Ten Hag were on “decent” terms and would work through the current break before deciding Ronaldo’s long-term position.
Given his connection to them and the fan base, United feel “blinded-sided” and “expected better” from the player. The Glazer family has made it known to Chief Executive, Richard Arnold, that they want the matter to be handled “as soon as possible” since they are not happy with how things have played out.
