
June 06, (THEWILL) – Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has officially inaugurated Dr (Mrs) Glory Effiong and Surv. Patric Edet Bassey, as the substantive Accountant General and Surveyor General of the state, respectively.
The governor emphasised that their appointments align with his commitment to working with individuals who are tested, trusted, and committed to excellence.
According to Governor Otu, both appointees have demonstrated strong character, knowledge, and perseverance in past assignments. He noted that the Surveyor General will play a crucial role in land administration, while the Accountant General will be instrumental in managing the state’s finances and driving economic progress.
Dr Effiong expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and pledged to improve the efficiency and transparency of public financial management. She also committed to working with her colleague to raise the standard of service delivery in Cross River State.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, who expressed confidence in the two officials and acknowledged the work they had already accomplished.
The new officials have pledged their dedication to the state’s development and to upholding the vision of the ‘people first’ administration. Their appointments are expected to bring positive changes to the state’s financial management and land administration.
