Haaland celebrates

September 17, (THEWILL) – Erling Haaland continued to rewrite the records with another goal as Manchester City defeated 10-man Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 to take the top spot in the English Premier League.

The visitors took control thanks to goals from Jack Grealish and Haaland in the first half, and Phil Foden added the winning goal midway through the second. Haaland has now scored in each of his first four away EPL matches, entering another record in the history books.

Nathan Collins was given a straight red card for a high challenge on Grealish, forcing Wolves to play the final few minutes of the game with a numerical disadvantage.

The City club under Pep Guardiola has now won all five of their previous league encounters against Wolves, scoring 16 goals and allowing just three in their head-to-head fixtures.

As a result of the victory, City overtakes Arsenal at the top of the standings with a goal difference of +17. For the time being, Wolves tumble to 16th, and their supporters will be hoping that Costa can help this team inject some much-needed attacking force after play resumes next month.
