June 07, (THEWILL) – Real Madrid’s interest in acquiring Kai Havertz has diminished due to concerns over Chelsea’s hefty asking price.
The Spanish club engaged in discussions with Havertz’s representatives, expressing their desire to secure a summer transfer. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti views the 23-year-old as a versatile forward capable of filling the void left by the departure of Eden Hazard and Marco Asensio. Although Chelsea is reluctant to part ways with Havertz during this transfer window, sources suggest that they would consider a sale if the right offer materialised.
The Blues are keen to recoup the substantial sum they invested in acquiring Havertz’s services in 2020, an amount exceeding £70 million. However, Real Madrid has currently withdrawn from negotiations, as they do not perceive Havertz to be worth the same value and are unwilling to pursue a deal at that price.
