March 07, (THEWILL)- In a highly exciting boxing event, former heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, will take on YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, on July 20, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight, promoted as a blockbuster matchup, will be streamed live by Netflix to a global audience.

Tyson, regarded as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time with a 50-6 record and 44 knockouts, is looking forward to the challenge. “It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch,” the 57-year-old said. “I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”

For his part, Paul has amassed a 9-1 record with 6 knockouts since transitioning from YouTube stardom to boxing. “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard,” the 27-year-old stated. “Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson himself.”

The bout promises to be an intriguing spectacle pitting the incredibly experienced but ageing Tyson against the much younger and ambitious Paul. Taking place at the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, it will be Tyson’s first fight since his 2020 exhibition with Roy Jones Jr ended in a draw.

While sceptics question the competitive merits, the Tyson vs Paul event is generating huge buzz in the combat sports world. All eyes will be on Arlington, Texas this July as two entertainers from very different eras face off in the ring.
