June 08, (THEWILL) – Nikola Jokić once again asserted his dominance on the court as the Denver Nuggets bounced back from their Game 2 collapse to secure a resounding 109-94 victory against the Miami Heat in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night.
Jokić, accompanied by Jamal Murray’s impressive 32-point triple-double performance, propelled the Nuggets to a comfortable lead in the second half, establishing a 2-1 advantage in the series. Although Denver held a mere 5-point lead at halftime, Jokić and Murray took charge and exhibited exceptional prowess. Jokić narrowly missed his triple-double by three rebounds at halftime, while Murray delivered 20 points. The Nuggets swiftly extended their lead to 14 points during the third quarter and commenced the fourth quarter with an 11-4 run, widening the gap to a commanding 21 points.
Despite the Heat briefly narrowing the margin in the closing minutes, the Nuggets maintained control and clinched the victory with a 15-point lead. Jokić’s outstanding performance included 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, marking his second triple-double in the NBA Finals. Furthermore, he became the first player in league history to record a minimum of 30 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists in a Finals game, a feat previously accomplished only by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain in playoff games.
Murray also achieved his own triple-double, contributing 34 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds to Denver’s triumph.
