September 20, (THEWILL) – There was a stir on social media when Brazilian footballer Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, popularly known as Hulk, announced that he and his wife are expecting their first child together.
The disclosure raised several eyebrows as Hulk is expecting a child with his former wife’s niece.
The 35-year-old forward separated from his wife, Iran Angelo de Souza, back in July 2019. They had been married for 12 years with two sons, Ian and Tiago, and a daughter, Alice. However, in October 2019, the former Porto player was in a relationship with his ex-wife’s niece.
When the news of the shocking turn of events broke, a representative of the player told a Brazilian paper at the time that “it’s in his position to be transparent, to avoid lies and malicious comments. Remember the Brazilian’s marriage ended in July and Camila [his new wife] was also separated for many months.”
In the swiftly unfolding drama, Hulk and Camilla married in March 2020, with Hulk deleting all references to his ex-wife on his social media pages.
That was the status of their union until an overjoyed Hulk took to his Instagram page to share the news. He said: “Today with a heart full of gratitude to God, I come to share with you that for the fourth time I am being blessed with another child.
“My heart overflows with so much happiness and I can only say thank you God. We are already looking forward to receiving you child, we love you unconditionally.
“Come full of health my baby.”
The awkwardness of the consanguineous links it will cause for his first three children, who will be siblings to their cousin, will be intriguing to follow.
