July 24, (THEWILL) – Ego Okoye, a lady arrested by Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, for defamation, has confessed that she was paid to accuse the actress of being a pimp.
In a viral video on social media, Okoye had accused Badmus of being a professional pimp, who connects ladies to politicians.
She alleged that Badmus ran a prostitution syndicate with a special preference for ladies, who had gone under the knife.
After Okoye’s video surfaced online, Badmus took to social media to warn people fabricating lies against her to tread carefully.
The actress later arrested Okoye. In a video posted on Badmus’ YouTube channel, Okoye was seen in police custody at an undisclosed location.
While explaining herself, she said a friend proposed to give her N200,000 to defame the actress. She also apologised to Badmus, adding that she did it to pay her rent.
“One of my friends said if I should come out and talk about Miss Eniola Badmus, he was going to send me N200,000 because I told him about my rent.
“So, I am so sorry. I just did it because of the money. I was so desperate to pay my house rent,” she said.
Reacting to Okoye’s apology, Badmus asked why she decided to ruin her reputation. The actress added that Okoye cannot be sorry because they are both going to court.
“Ego, how far now, wetin I do you? Nothing, you just decided to spoil my name. You cannot be sorry, we dey go court o,” she said in pidgin English.
