May 10, (THEWILL) – The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sports Development, Honourable Daniel Igali, has commended Bayelsa Queens for their victorious start to the 2024-25 NWFL Premiership Super Six Playoffs in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Bayelsa Queens defeated their fierce South-South local rivals, Rivers Angels, 1-0 to kick-start their playoffs campaign on Saturday.
After the game, Hon Igali, who was in Ikenne to support the Prosperity Girls, while speaking to journalists, applauded Bayelsa Queens’ dedication and resilience to secure a vital derby win.
Igali urged them to keep the fire burning in approaching other matches, stressing that Governor Douye Diri and the entire people of Bayelsa are solidly and prayerfully behind them
Bayelsa Queens now turn their attention to a team that knocked them out of the Federations Cup, Nasarawa Amazons, on Monday, while Rivers Angels will battle another South-South team, Edo Queens same day.
