Iheanacho, Ndidi, Lookman Nominated For Leicester Goal Of The Month

March 01, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian trio of Leicester City players, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman, have been nominated for the club’s Goal of the Month for February, according to the Foxes’ official website.

The three Super Eagles’ stars are up against four other players for the monthly award, including James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira, Freya Gregory, and Tawanda Maswanhise.

Iheanacho was been nominated for his goal against Nottingham Forest in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup, Ndidi for his effort in the home leg of the Europa Conference League playoff versus Randers, and Lookman for his Premier League strike against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In the 40th minute of their game against Forest, Iheanacho, who had just returned from the TotalEnergies 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, rounded the goalie before scoring from a difficult angle for the club’s only goal in the 4-1 loss.

In Ndidi’s case, the midfield enforcer scored his second European goal of the season midway through the first half in a 4-1 victory over Randers.

Lookman was involved in the goal as he played a one-two with Ndidi in an 18-yard box crammed with Randers defenders, before the holding midfielder slid the ball beyond the goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Youri Tielemans found a moment of elegance against Wolverhampton Wanderers when he threaded a sumptuous pass through to Marc Albrighton to set up Lookman for a merited equaliser in the 41st minute, even though they eventually lost the tie by a 2-1 margin.
