SAN FRANCISCO, September 15, (THEWILL) – The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has warned Nigerians against ignoring activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, just as the Boko Haram sect was ignored before the terrorist organisation began launching attacks in other parts of the county.
Masari, who spoke to State House correspondents on Friday after observing Juma’at prayers at the Presidential Villa, called on Nigerians to support the Federal Government’s actions against IPOB.
He warned that if the IPOB is ignored, the group could consume the whole country just like the Boko Haram sect almost did.
According to him, “On what is going on in the country, I think there is need for Nigerians to be very responsible in terms of dealing with issues of this kind in this country.
“When the problem of Boko Haram started in the country, we looked the other way and it nearly consumed the nation. So, under these circumstances any agitation that is likely to lead the nation to the kind of problem we had, I think all Nigerians should support the government and put a stop to it.”
The governor however stated that his government has put measures in place to ensure that there are no attacks against anyone in Katsina State.
“As regards the tension in the country, we in Katsina State have put in necessary measures to ensure that the people living in the state irrespective of where they come from are safe,” he said.
