December 03, (THEWILL) – Nigerian singer and actress, Nwakaego Iheanacho Ogbaro, popularly known as Ego, has disclosed the reasons behind her departure from Bisade Ologunde, aka Lagbaja’s Africano band in 2007.

Ego served as a backup singer to the renowned Nigerian afrobeat musician, Bisade Ologunde, better known as Lagbaja, contributing to hits like ‘Konko Below,’ ‘Nothing for You,’ and ‘Never Far Away.’

Ego clarified her departure from Lagbaja’s Africano band on her X platform, stating that it was a natural progression for her to move on from the band, emphasising there was no discord between her and Lagbaja.

She tweeted: “We need to stop this “When Ego left Lagbaja, everything “dabarued” (lol) narrative…We are both doing very well in our separate endeavours. End of story. Gracias!”

Regarding a potential future collaboration, Ego mentioned that it’s not out of the realm of possibility between her and Lagbaja.

“No it’s not. There is nothing to resolve. Just a case of when it’s time to move, you meeuuve. Working together again is not an impossibility,” she wrote.
