May 15, (THEWILL) – In a stunning upset, Fabian Marozsan defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the Italian Open, producing the best performance of his career so far.
Marozsan, who battled through qualifying to reach his first ATP main draw event, played an almost flawless game to knock out the Spaniard, who is considered one of the main contenders to win the French Open later this month.
Alcaraz, who was forced to exit his Rome debut early, will now shift his focus to the upcoming Grand Slam tournament.
