July 22, (THEWILL) – Hollywood actor, Jamie Foxx, has appreciated his family and fans for their support while he was hospitalised.
A few months ago, his daughter, Corrine Foxx, revealed that the actor had experienced a medical complication, but did not share details about his health issue.
At a point the actor was taken to rehab facility in Chicago. The clinic specialises in physical therapy programs, stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.
The actor was also spotted for the first time in public a few weeks ago, waving to his fans while on a boat.
Taking to his Instagram, Foxx made a video where he thanked his family for keeping details about his health a top secret.
He added that he will soon return to work after taking time off to recover. He reassured fans that he was not paralysed or blind.
“I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back”, he said.
He explained that although many people were eager to hear updates, he didn’t want fans to see him with tubes running out of him and trying to figure out if he was going to make it through.
“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie or television show”, Foxx added.
“My sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corrine really saved my life.
“I made this video because of them, to God, to a lot of great medical people.”
Foxx also stated that his privacy during his illness had been vital to him.
“I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out.
“They protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these”, he stated.
