December 13, (THEWILL) –Â After helping Rangers to another win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday, Joe Aribo is determined to keep his scoring streak going.
The title challenge of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team was sustained as Aribo added to Alfredo Morelos’ opening goal to gain a merited three points.
Aribo has been on fire in recent weeks, and he did it again when he took a long ball from Connor Goldson and finished decisively, leaving Craig Gordon helpless. And, the Nigerian is convinced that he can continue to contribute in the final third after another strong performance on a day when Rangers had plenty to celebrate.
“I got a bit of stick from Connor because I didn’t score the last one so I was happy to score this one,” Aribo said humourously.
“I want to score in every game that I can. I am just happy to be getting these numbers and keep improving and keep getting better. I just want to keep focussing on every single game and keep scoring. If I keep getting higher and higher numbers, that is my aim.”
Rangers missed a slew of chances to put the game out of reach as Hearts threatened and came close on several occasions in a tense Premiership contest.
Van Bronckhorst’s side were able to see out the game, extending their unbeaten run to six games since the Dutchman took over as manager from Steven Gerrard.
And Aribo understands the significance of game management as the champions want to continue their winning ways through a vital festive match calendar.
Aribo said: “It is massive. We knew that we needed to stay solid and grind, push together and keep working hard. We were able to stop them from scoring.
“We know that every single day the boss wants us to improve and get better. We have to take on board what he is giving us and keep working hard and that is what we are doing.”
