October 18, (THEWILL) – Nigerian actor and comedian, John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, celebrated his 63rd birthday on hospital bed with family members.
On Tuesday, October 17, the veteran actor turned 63 and celebrated his special day in the hospital alongside his wife and children.
A video was shared via his Instagram handle as Mr Ibu was sitting on a hospital bed with a birthday cake before him, mustering the strength to join in the celebration despite his discomfort.
In the recording, his family marked his birthday as he sat down looking terribly ill. They tried to cheer him up but he would have none of their jokes.
Mr Ibu’s daughter, Jazmine Okafor, also posted the video on her Instagram post, adding that the man has been sick for the past two weeks.
“Happy birthday Daddy @realmribu ! It breaks my heart that we are celebrating you today from the HOSPITAL Bed! My greatest wish today is that God crowns you with divine healing, Good health and many more happy years ! This past two weeks, you have fought a good fight and you are still standing tall. We are here for you! Victory is assured! Speedy recovery papa”, she wrote.
Mr Ibu has been in and out of the hospital since last year.
