March 29, (THEWILL) – Anthony Joshua is still aiming for a heavyweight title fight against Tyson Fury, despite the latter’s current focus on a unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua’s loss against Usyk dashed the possibility of a showdown between the two British fighters, but the former heavyweight champion remains hopeful of another opportunity to compete for the title. He faces James Franklyn at the O2 Arena on Saturday, hoping to bounce back from back-to-back defeats.
Joshua has made significant changes following his defeats, hiring a new coach and basing his training camp in Texas. The 33-year-old is focused on getting a win against Franklyn, but has also expressed his desire for another shot at the heavyweight title.
Despite his recent losses, Joshua believes he still has a lot to offer and remains committed to his career and the pursuit of victory. “I would love that opportunity,” Joshua said when asked about a possible fight against Fury. “You asking me? Yes, I would take that opportunity, for sure.”
Although a fight between Joshua and Fury seems unlikely at the moment, Joshua remains optimistic and determined to fight his way back into the title picture.
