Kidnapped Ogun Journalist, Daughter, Regain Freedom

SAN FRANCISCO, June 17, (THEWILL) – Nosifat Oshin, Director of information at Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State, who was abducted alongside her 15-year-old daughter, Afolabi, two weeks ago, regained their freedom on Friday.

Nofisat, who is also the wife of a former deputy speaker of Ogun state, Tokunbo Oshin, was abducted with her daughter, on June 2 near the family’s home in Ijebu-Ode as they tried to drive inside the residence.

The victims, according to the family, were released on Friday morning but it was unclear whether ransom was paid.

The former Deputy Speaker, Tokunbo Oshin, confirmed the release of his wife and daughter saying they have been taken to hospital for medical care.

The news has brought succour to journalists in the state who had been apprehensive over their colleague.
