December 03, (THEWILL) –Â The nominations for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for November have been announced, with Steven Gerrard of Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola of Manchester City, and Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool all in the running.
Gerrard has only been at Villa Park for a month, but he has already made an impact. Two late goals gave him a victory over Brighton in his debut game in command, and the Villans followed it up with a convincing victory over Crystal Palace.
Guardiola, however, led City to three consecutive league triumphs in November while juggling his team’s European responsibilities to get an edge over the former Liverpool icon.
The first was a 2-0 victory over Manchester United, which his team thoroughly dominated throughout. Following that, the Cityzens cruised to a 3-0 home win over struggling Everton before defeating high-flying West Ham 2-1 to close off the month.
Klopp, who led Liverpool to two victories and one loss in three games last month, is the third manager nominated. The Reds began November with a 3-2 loss to West Ham, but they bounced back with back-to-back 4-0 victories at Anfield over Arsenal and Southampton.
Votes can be submitted via the Premier League website by members of the general public interested in contributing. After the votes from the public have been collected, they will be joined with those from an expert football panel to determine the winner.
On Monday, November 6, at 1:00 pm local time, public voting for this month’s award will close.
