April 18, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor, Ray Emodi, has been called out by an upcoming actress and producer, Rossy Adigwe.
Adigwe took to social media to call out Emodi over his refusal to refund the sum of N700,000 paid to him for a movie role.
The filmmaker also said she has been unable to reach the actor because he blocked her on means in which she can reach him.
“I paid Ray Emodi N700k to act in my movie in February.
“Ray declined the job after four days of payment because of some changes in the number of scenes. I paid before my script was out. He gave me a condition that he has a date with another producer and he’ll work with whoever pays first.
“I paid him first to secure the date and after I sent my script to him, he told me that he can’t do the job.
“He said he wants to refund and I pleaded with him to do the job, but he refused. He told me to send my account number and I did.
“Ray told me he’s not going to pay until after three weeks. I’ve had to postpone my job twice now because of Ray. He has refused to give me my money. He has blocked me everywhere. I can’t even reach him, I can’t call him”, she said amidst tears.
Reacting to the allegation, Emodi made a video on Instagram, where he stated that Adigwe’s money has been refunded.
The actor also broke down in tears while sharing his side of the story.
Emodi said the money she paid him was too little for the job he was asked to do. He also explained why he was unable to refund her immediately.
“The girl has gotten her money back a few minutes ago. My tears are not fake not crocodile tears.
“I’ve been acting in Nollywood since 2017 and I’ve done close to 300 productions. Since that time no one has come out to accuse me of something like this.
“We agreed on 40 scenes for a certain amount and she paid. The amount was discounted, I don’t collect N700k, it’s N10 million I normally collect.
“I agreed because she’s young and she is an upcoming producer. This girl came back with 60 scenes and I said I can’t do it. She pleaded and started crying.
“For people asking why I didn’t pay her back immediately, the account that she paid into is not my account.
“I might get paid N10 million for a movie but I’m not wealthy, I’m still an actor. I do a lot apart from acting that I put my money into. Listen, if I offend you, I apologise.”
