December 17, (THEWILL) –A 33-year-old lady, Rebecca Ikumelo, has passed on after sustaining injuries during Asake’s Brixton O2 Academy concert last week.
Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake, staged a show at the Brixton O2 Academy in London but it was cancelled due to a breach in security.
Pandemonium broke out when the singer started performing and the show had to be cancelled.
Some of his fans were injured and rushed to the hospital immediately.
According to Daily mail, Ikumelo died in a hospital on Saturday, after being critically injured in the stampede at the concert.
Asake also took to his Twitter page to confirm the lady’s death.
“I am devastated by the news that Rebecca Ikumelo, who was in a critical condition since Thursday, has sadly passed away.
“My sincere condolences to her loved ones at this time. Let us please keep her family in our prayers. I have spoken to them and will continue to do so.
“I am overwhelmed with grief and could never have imagined anything like this happening.
Daily mail also reported that the Metropolitan Police said two other women, aged 21 and 23, are still in critical condition.
