April 16, (THEWILL) – Brest earned a vital 1-0 win against Nice in their Ligue 1 clash on Saturday, at the Stade Francis-Le Blé.

The game was closely contested with both teams creating chances, but it was Jérémy Le Douaron who broke the deadlock through an assist by Kenny Lala in the 12th minute with a well-placed header. Nice put in their best efforts, but were unable to find an equaliser before the final whistle.

Nice started the game brightly, with Khéphren Thuram-Ulien and Le Douaron causing problems for the Brest defence. However, Brest gradually grew into the game and began to create chances of their own. Le Douaron’s goal was the result of sustained pressure on the Nice defence, and it proved to be the difference between the two sides even after Terem Moffi was brought in at the start of the second half.

The win moves Brest out of the drop zone in the Ligue 1 table, while Nice remain in 9th place. Brest will be hoping to build on this result when they travel to AC Ajaccio in their next match to remain in Ligue 1, while Nice will look to bounce back against Basel at home.
