On Tuesday night, James became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 39-year-old record of 38,387 points. In that memorable game, James racked up 38 points, despite the Oklahoma City Thunder defeating the Lakers 133-130.
The four-time NBA champion and 20-year veteran of the sport made history with a classic fade-away jump shot to finish off the third quarter, requiring 36 points to surpass Abdul-Jabbar’s record.
