October 23, (THEWILL) – Leicester hammered a pitiful Wolverhampton Wanderers side 4-0 at the Molineux and finally had enough points to move off the bottom of the English Premier League and out of the relegation zone.
In a thrilling encounter, the Foxes took the lead right away through a spectacular Youri Tielemans goal. From there, Brendan Rodgers’ team was on their way to their first away victory of the season with Harvey Barnes adding a second shortly after.
Five minutes after the hour mark, James Maddison made it three but there was still time for Jamie Vardy to score his first goal of the season after coming off the bench. Surprisingly, Leicester only had four attempts over the opening 85 minutes while Wolves had a staggering 21 without a goal.
Their lack of goals led to Bruno Lage’s dismissal and acting head coach, Steve Davis, appears helpless to address it. If he is unable to, it might cost Wolves their place in the Premier League. They dropped to 19th place with this result while Leicester is now ranked 16th.
The next EPL matchups will see Leicester hosting Manchester City and Wolves travelling to Brentford, who were soundly beaten 4-0 by the managerless Aston Villa on Sunday.
