December 01, (THEWILL) — The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Levene Energy Holdings, Nzan Ogbe, has been named Sustainability Man of the Year at the 2025 SERAS Africa CSR and Sustainability Awards, a recognition that underscores his sweeping influence and groundbreaking contributions to sustainable energy development across the continent.
A distinguished entrepreneur with a career spanning more than three decades across commercial trading, real estate, oil and gas, telecommunications, and renewable energy, Ogbe has emerged as a leading voice in Africa’s clean-energy transition. Under his visionary leadership, Levene Energy has evolved into a diversified energy conglomerate with strategic footprints in power, gas, and renewables.
One of the company’s most significant milestones is its advanced-stage acquisition, through a strategic consortium of a major gas distribution company in Nigeria, a move expected to strengthen national energy infrastructure and enhance access to cleaner, more reliable energy sources.
Ogbe also doubles as Chairman of LPV Technologies, one of Nigeria’s trailblazing renewable-energy manufacturing companies. With an investment exceeding $20 million, the firm has developed a state-of-the-art 100MW solar panel manufacturing facility, financed almost entirely through internally generated revenue rather than credit from financial institutions. The achievement illustrates Ogbe’s disciplined stewardship and his commitment to deepening Africa’s renewable energy value chain.
Notably, LPV Technologies recently commenced the export of Nigeria-made solar panels to Ghana, with plans for wider West African distribution, a landmark development positioning Nigeria as a key supplier in the region’s clean-energy ecosystem.
Ogbe’s influence extends beyond corporate boardrooms. He sits on the boards of Macif Holdings, Aegon Distribution Limited, and Reed Priceman Limited, contributing to governance excellence and strategic expansion. He is also an alumnus of the Georgetown Leadership Seminar and has undertaken several international executive development programmes, further solidifying his global perspective.
Outside the business sphere, he champions inclusive development through The Zeebah Foundation, a non-profit he founded to support families of individuals living with autism, reflecting his conviction that sustainability must encompass human welfare and social inclusion.
In his acceptance speech, Ogbe expressed profound gratitude to God, his family, friends, partners, and the teams at Levene Energy and LPV Technologies. He praised their collective resilience and innovation, which he said made the award possible.
He paid special tribute to NNPC Limited, represented by a team led by the Executive Vice President, Services, Mrs Sophia Mbakwe, noting that their strategic collaboration has been crucial in transforming visionary ideas into impactful solutions.
While celebrating the honour, Ogbe stressed the responsibility that comes with it, calling for increased global prioritisation of Africa’s sustainability needs, particularly in financing clean energy. According to him, the continent does not lack expertise or ambition but faces a chronic shortage of capital required to drive a just energy transition.
“Sustainability for Africa is not optional, it is essential. “Empowering African solutions remains the surest path to powering Africa’s future”, he said.
Ogbe commended SERAS founders, Ken and Mary Egbas, for providing a credible platform that promotes impact, accountability, and innovation in corporate sustainability across Africa.
He dedicated the award to his teams and partners, reaffirming his commitment to advancing a cleaner, more resilient, and inclusive energy future for millions across the continent.
