May 03, (THEWILL) – Liverpool midfielder, Thiago Alcantara, will be ruled out of the remainder of the current English Premier League season due to a hip injury.
The Spanish international has struggled with fitness issues since joining the club in 2020 and is set to undergo surgery. Thiago has not started a game since April and has been limited to four substitute appearances.
The absence of Thiago will be a blow to Liverpool’s midfield, which is already without Naby Keita and Stefan Bajcetic due to injuries. Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott started in their win against Tottenham on Sunday, and Jordan Henderson is another option for the Reds.
Forward Diogo Jota is doubtful for their upcoming match against Fulham, while Roberto Firmino is also absent.
