Mane

June 06, (THEWILL) – Merseyside club, Liverpool, have turned down a bid from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane, their Senegalese attacker.

Mane is in the final year of his contract at Anfield and has made it obvious that he wants to leave, however, he has promised to stop talking about his predicament in public after saying that some of his comments about his departure were misinterpreted.

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Mane this summer, and the Bundesliga giants have made an initial offer to Liverpool that is significantly lower than the Reds’ asking price. The English side reportedly turned down the offer and intend to keep Mane until a team matches the £40 million plus asking price for his departure.

However, dialogue between the two parties remains open, with Bayern still hoping to reach an agreement. The 30-year-old striker has also been informed that the offer of a new contract is still on the table, and Liverpool are willing to sit down and work out a new deal at any time with him.

Last week’s talks over a contract extension for Mane were unexpectedly cancelled by the forward’s representatives after he opted to depart the club in pursuit of fresh challenges.
