November 28, (THEWILL) — Aston Villa recorded their fourth UEFA Europa League victory in five outings with a 2-1 defeat of Young Boys at Villa Park on Thursday. The result lifted Villa to second in the standings before the evening’s remaining fixtures kicked off.

The forward had a third ruled out for offside early in the second period. Young Boys substitute, Chris Bedia, also saw an effort chalked off by VAR before Joel Monteiro gave the Swiss side hope with a late strike, cutting inside and firing home.
Villa held firm to claim all three points despite the late scare. The win continued their strong European campaign and consolidated their position near the top of the group table.
