November 22, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect by “mutual agreement” and Manchester United has confirmed that the player has departed the team for the second time.
It comes just a few days after Ronaldo gave a fiery interview to Piers Morgan and TalkTV, in which he harshly criticised the team, the management and the manager.
A statement from the Old Trafford club read: “Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.
“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”
