Manchester United

March 23, (THEWILL) – The future of Manchester United remains uncertain as the latest deadline for takeover bids has passed, with two frontrunners, Qatari banker, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and INEOS chief, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, competing for a full takeover bid.

Even with massive interest from fans eagerly awaiting updates, support for either Sheikh Jassim or Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been hugely divided on social media.

Although there is interest from others, many have only shown interest in a minority stake in the club. United officials have met with multiple potential suitors this month, including a delegation representing Sheikh Jassim and a personal visit from Ratcliffe himself to Old Trafford.

However, sources previously confirmed that the Glazers have been holding out for £6bn, a figure that Ratcliffe has stated he would not be pressured into paying over the odds for. It remains to be seen who will come out on top in the battle for control of Manchester United.
