January 27, (THEWILL) – The previously postponed English Premier League match between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 15.
Due to a COVID-19 epidemic at United, the match was originally planned for December 18 but had to be postponed.
Outbreaks of the virus this season led to 21 Premier League matches being postponed. There are 18 games that have yet to be rescheduled, including those that have been postponed owing to Chelsea’s involvement in the Club World Cup.
The Premier League altered its regulations on postponing matches on Wednesday, requiring clubs to have at least four positive COVID-19 cases before a match can be called off.
That rule is now in effect and will sort out the debates that have dogged the Premier League’s decisions to approve or disapprove postponement requests.
The League also said that fans will no longer require COVID passes to attend games.
