Bernardo Silva

January 31, (THEWILL) – Manchester City Football Club has no intention of letting their star player Bernardo Silva, leave before the close of the January transfer window.

THEWILL recalls that Silva joined the club in 2017 from AS Monaco and has won numerous titles including four English Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and 4 League Cups. Despite his success on the field, the Portuguese international has been unsettled off the field for some time.

He expressed his desire to leave the club in the summer of 2021 and is said to have a strong admiration for Barcelona Football Club. Barcelona has expressed their interest in Silva and reportedly checked on his situation, but no official approach has been made.

Manchester City are said to be firm in their stance to keep Silva and not let him go. Pep Guardiola admitted last year that he would not stand in Silva’s way if the player wanted to leave, but the club has taken a different approach. Although Barça President, Joan Laporta, recently ruled out spending €80m on Silva, Coach Xavi remains a fan of the player, claiming “I love him as a player”.

The Etihad club is determined to keep Silva and reportedly stated that he is going nowhere in the remaining hours of the January transfer window. Silva has been a vital player for the club and has contributed greatly to their success over the past few years.
