February 19, (THEWILL) – New reports being monitored by THEWILL, have it that PSG are poised to offer Kylian Mbappe a new contract extension. The contract in question will make him the highest paid player in football.

Last summer, Mbappe turned down a similar offer, and he is now free to speak with other teams as he is in the final months of his current contract.

At the moment, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Sporting Director Leonardo, are reportedly no longer in charge of negotiating Mbappe’s extension, with multiple Qatari representatives now speaking with the player and his family in an attempt to keep him in Paris beyond next summer.

In Spain, however, it is believed that Real Madrid remain convinced that the situation around bringing the French forward to the Santiago Bernabeu, even after PSG’s late victory over Los Blancos last Tuesday.

The implication is that Real is confident in their chances of signing Mbappe as soon as the 2021-2022 season ends, regardless of what happens in the return leg of the Champions League Round of 16 between the two teams.

If the bumper contract offer, coupled with the pressure being brought to bear on Mbappe from the higher-ups in Paris, will sway the striker is as yet uncertain, but the Frenchman has refused to be convinced to accept all the moves made to keep him with Les Parisiens so far.
