Mbappe

May 31, (THEWILL)- According to news sources, Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid, a deal that has been long in the making, is set to be finalised early next week.

The French captain, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30, 2024, has decided to join the Spanish champions after seven seasons in Paris. The 24-year-old striker is likely to be presented in the Spanish capital after the conclusion of Euro 2024, scheduled from 14 June to 14 July.

Mbappe is expected to remain with the French national team, which has been in camp at Clairefontaine since Wednesday. The team is preparing for two Euro warm-up matches, facing Luxembourg in Metz on Wednesday and Canada in Bordeaux four days later.

The transfer, the subject of intense speculation for months, will end Mbappe’s successful stint with PSG. During his time in Paris, the forward established himself as one of the world’s most prolific goalscorers, winning numerous domestic titles and individual accolades.

Real Madrid, the reigning European champions, have long coveted Mbappe’s services, viewing the Frenchman as crucial in their pursuit of continued success on the continental stage.
