May 05, (THEWILL) – Contrary to reports making the rounds, French striker, Kylian Mbappe, has not yet decided his future with Paris Saint-Germain, according to Mbappe’s mother.

On Thursday evening, some media reported that a breakthrough had been made, with the player on the verge of signing a new contract. It was believed that a two-year contract with an option for a third season was close to being signed.

There were large figures mentioned, including a €100 million loyalty incentive and €50 million in after-tax wages. According to the reveal, an oral agreement was reached, with a formal statement to follow.

However, although PSG and the player himself have not responded, Mbappe’s mother, who has been handling the negotiations, took to Twitter to dispute that an agreement has been reached.

“There is no agreement with PSG (or any other club),” Fayza Lamari posted in French. “Discussions are still ongoing regarding Kylian’s future in a climate of serenity to permit him to make the right choice, in the respect of all parties.”

Real Madrid are reportedly still interested in signing the striker, whose current contract expires in June. PSG recently reclaimed the Ligue 1 title, but the UEFA Champions League remains elusive, while coach Mauricio Pochettino’s job is under threat this summer.

All of these may induce him to make a move with Real on the verge of another UCL trophy on the back of a spectacular season under Carlo Ancelotti.
