March 09, (THEWILL) — Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina delivered a result that shook the Serie A title race, with AC Milan defeating league leaders Inter 1-0 at the San Siro.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side reduced the gap to their city rivals to seven points with the victory, completing a league double over Inter for the first time since the 2010/2011 campaign.
The outcome hinged on a 35th-minute sequence that began with Milan captain Mike Maignan.
