November 06, (THEWILL) – With a 2-1 victory over Lorient, thanks to a late header from Danilo Pereira, Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead atop Ligue 1 to five points, as Terem Moffi added to his goal tally.
Neymar scored the first goal for PSG inside the first nine minutes to continue his incredible season, but they were unable to increase their lead at the Stade du Moustoir.
Moffi scored Lorient’s equaliser eight minutes into the second half, his tenth league goal of the season that puts him behind leading scorers Kylian Mbappe and Neymar with their 11 goals so far. Moffi could have made it 10, but struck the crossbar soon after scoring.
That appeared to be the closest either team would get to a deciding second until Danilo rose highest from a Neymar corner in the 81st minute to head home the victory and help Christophe Galtier’s side take maximum points.
Next Sunday, PSG will play their last game before the World Cup against Auxerre, while Lorient will go to Strasbourg on the same day.
