November 11, (THEWILL) – Mohamed Salah of Liverpool has been named the PFA Vertu Motors Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month for the second time.
The Egyptian won the accolade in September for his excellent performances and he continued to perform well in October with displays that prompted manager Jurgen Klopp to call him the finest player on the planet.
The 29-year-old was nominated for the monthly award alongside Chelsea’s Reece James and Ben Chilwell, Crystal Palace’s Conor Gallagher, West Ham’s Declan Rice, and Manchester City’s Phil Foden
Salah won the PFA Vertu Motors Supporters’ Player of the Month award in September and went one step further in October, with 77.6 percent of fans voting for him.
The Egyptian finished comfortably ahead of second-placed Foden, who received 6.2 percent of the vote, and West Ham captain Rice, who continues to impress in all competitions, received 5.7 percent of the vote. Salah appeared in four Premier League games in October, contributing an assist in each and scoring five goals for good measure.
The month began with a massive match between Liverpool and Foden’s City side. That day, the two players shared the Man of the Match award, but Salah stole the show with an incredible solo goal that saw him beat five opponents before blasting past Ederson.
He rode that surge of positivity into his subsequent trip to Watford. The scoring began with a beautiful assist for Sadio Mane, but Liverpool’s 5-0 victory was crowned by an equally magnificent solo goal from Salah.
The Reds scored five goals against Manchester United the next week, with Salah scoring a hat-trick, before finishing the month with an assist in a 2-2 draw with Brighton.
