June 18, (THEWILL) – Andy Murray displayed his readiness for the upcoming Wimbledon tournament by securing another grass court triumph at the Nottingham Open final on Sunday.
The British tennis star claimed his second consecutive grass court title by defeating Arthur Cazaux in the Midlands competition. Murray’s clinical performance resulted in a 6-4 6-4 victory, as he capitalised on three out of four break points against his French opponent, securing the Challenger Tour title. Maintaining an impressive winning streak of 10 matches on grass, Murray remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, not dropping a single set.
Reflecting on his triumph, Murray said: “It was a really good week, I really enjoyed my time here. The courts have played brilliantly, the ground staff did an excellent job. I played really well and got better as the week went on and I’m glad to get through – on to Queen’s. I’m absolutely pumped.”
