Nagelsmann

April 17, (THEWILL) – Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly met with the Directors at Chelsea to discuss potentially becoming the club’s next manager.

This comes after informal talks between Nagelsmann’s representatives and Chelsea had already taken place in recent weeks as the Blues built up a shortlist of potential targets. Chelsea Directors, Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart have now personally met with Nagelsmann to discuss his vision for the club.

THEWILL recalls that ex-Barcelona and Spain boss, Luis Enrique, had also recently travelled to London for talks with Chelsea chiefs. Although Nagelsmann and Enrique are still considered the leading candidates for the role, they are not the only options. Other contenders on Chelsea’s shortlist include Mauricio Pochettino and Sporting CP boss, Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea co-owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, are determined to make the right decision and are prepared to oversee a lengthy in-depth process to ensure the best candidate is hired.

During the discussions, all potential managers were asked about their demands over summer transfers and visions for some of the club’s young stars. One of those young stars is on-loan centre-back, Levi Colwill, who has been earmarked for a role in Chelsea’s first team next season after an excellent loan spell with Brighton.
