December 20, (THEWILL) – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has recovered from his right knee sprain and will return for Napoli’s Serie A match against Genoa on Saturday, as confirmed by team manager Antonio Conte.
The Georgian winger, who has scored five goals and provided three assists in 15 league appearances this season, returned to full training with the squad this week.
Napoli currently sit second in Serie A with 35 points, trailing leaders Atalanta by two points.
The club’s defensive record has been particularly strong since September, with the team conceding only twice in away fixtures and maintaining five clean sheets – a record matched only by Fiorentina, Inter, and Real Sociedad across Europe’s top five leagues during this period.
Conte emphasised the importance of building lasting success through solid foundations and hard work while expressing confidence in his squad.
However, he remained open to potential January transfers if suitable opportunities arise, stating that any decisions would be made in conjunction with the club.
The match at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium presents a significant challenge, with Genoa under Patrick Vieira remaining unbeaten in their last four matches (one win, three draws) and not conceding in their previous three league games.
The hosts will be looking to achieve four consecutive clean sheets for the first time since early 2022.
