May 06, (THEWILL) – Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has issued a stern warning to interested clubs that Victor Osimhen is not for sale.
The Super Eagles striker was signed from Lille for a club-record €72 million in 2020, and after a first season that saw him score just ten goals in 30 appearances, there were doubts about his ability. However, under Coach Luciano Spalletti, Osimhen has been in incredible form, and this season he has proven that he can be one of the best in the world if he stays fit.
The Nigerian striker has registered an impressive 27 goals and five assists in 33 appearances for the Partenopeans in all competitions this season, helping them win their first Scudetto since Maradona led the club to victory in 1990. His incredible performances have caught the attention of some of the best teams in Europe, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.
Despite the interest, De Laurentiis has stated that he will not sell Osimhen. Yet, Napoli could shift ground in the end if an offer is too good to refuse. The club could demand up to €150 million before they sell their star man. Osimhen has never hidden his desire to play in the English Premier League, and this latest development could spark a bidding war among the interested clubs.
