November 29, (THEWILL) – Italian football giants, Napoli, are exploring options to replace star striker, Victor Osimhen, should the Nigerian make an expected departure from the club. According to sources monitored by THEWILL, talks over a new contract have stalled since the summer, prompting speculation of a future transfer.
English Premier League side, Chelsea, are said to be readying a club-record bid for the forward in the January window. Any deal would likely surpass the £115m Chelsea recently spent to recruit, Moises Caicedo. Aware of the situation, Napoli have already begun scouting potential successors to fill Osimhen’s shoes.
Two talents capturing attention are his compatriots, Victor Boniface and Akor Adams. The 22-year-old Boniface has rapidly made an impression in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen, notching 11 goals and six assists since a summer switch. Adams, who is 23, has similarly caught the eye playing in France’s Ligue 1 for Montpellier.
